Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Davis and Powell Funeral Home in Berea, KY. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 18, at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 1301 North State Street in Litchfield. Pastor Fred Kraemer will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Elm Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 139 Yaeger Lake Trail in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of funeral arrangements.Mr. Miller was born on Sept. 19, 1937, in Clark County, to Rev. Walter and Mary (Calvert) Miller. Mr. Miller was married to Dorothy (Schuette) Miller for 61 years. He was an industrial engineer with Dresser Industries for over 30 years. Mr. Miller was a member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, making musical instruments, gardening, cooking, traveling, history and visiting historical sites. He was of the Lutheran faith and attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Lexington, KY.Mr. Miller is survived by his wife; two sons, Jack (Debra) Miller of Bryan, TX and Michael Miller of Richmond, KY; a grandson, Zachary Miller of Richmond, KY; one brother, Alvin (Martha) Miller of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Julia Jester, Mary Ward, Carol Dorf and Lugenia Miller.Condolences may be left online at www.davisandpowellfuneralhome.com. ...

Visitation will be held Friday, March 15, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 16, beginning at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield with the Rev. Fred Kraemer officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.Mrs. Helgen was born March 16, 1937, in Belleville, to Harold Milby and Ida M. (Jackson) Simpson. She married Edward William Helgen on June 17, 1956, at St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Litchfield, and he survives.She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1955, and over the years, worked with her father at Simpson Shoe Store in Litchfield and managed the gift shop at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.Mrs. Helgen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, where she was active with Zion Ladies Aid. Additionally, she was a member of the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi, PEO and the Litchfield Country Club, where she played on the Friday night couple's league.She enjoyed Cardinals baseball, traveling and taking trips with First National Bank, but especially loved her grandchildren and time spent with them.In addition to her husband, Mrs. Helgen is survived by one son, Daniel (JoAnn) Helgen of Litchfield; three daughters, Marci (Lloyd "Peanut") Johnson and Tricia (Craig) Rogers, both of Litchfield, and Nancy (Earl) Flack of Hillsboro; two brothers, Dave (Peggy) Simpson and Hal (Fran) Simpson, both of Decatur; 12 grandchildren, Kyle (Angie) Johnson, Kasey (Tyler) VanderMeersch, Ryan and Emily Stitt, Kelsey Flack, Zachary and Rachel Helgen, Amanda (Alex) Hampton, Brianna and Alec Rogers and Lindsay (Cody) Epley; seven great-grandchildren; and members of her Copper Creek family.She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson, Keck Hampton; father and mother-in-law, Otto and Hulda (Bentlage) Helgen; and one niece, Shari Helgen Huntley.Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Sue Helgen Memori...
